Start Point Address / Driving Directions:
71st St. Gatehouse. The park is located on the northwest side of Indianapolis and can be reached from I- 65 and I- 465. Take the 71st Street exit from either and travel west. The park entrance is 1.2 miles from I–465 and just 500 meters from I –65. The start point is the gatehouse at the northern entrance of the park. There is a fee for using the park. When entering the park, tell the attendant that you are doing the walk and/or bike event. Parkyour vehicle in the parking area, just inside the gate. Walk to the gatehouse and ask the attendant for the registration book and start card(s). The award is a 2 inch enamel medallion of the park’s logo with a bar for each year. Cost is $7.50 for header and bar, $4.50 for bar only, and $3.00 for IVV credit only. Event Description: 9:00 AM to dusk. Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas. The 25-KM bike trail consists of two loops that cover the roads and some hills. Riders are advised to wear a helmet and carry water.
