The Indianapolis Chess Meetup

Regular Meetups EVERY Saturday morning, even during holiday weekends. Some players arrive at 7 AM (married with kids, it's the only time we are free!), some show up at 9 AM, we all just come and go without any RSVP's. But there is ALWAYS someone there for a game from 7 AM - 9 AM. At any point, we usually have 5 or 6 players. Some like clocks, most do not. A few are just beginners, most are intermediates of various levels. Everyone is friendly, everyone plays everyone, and there's coffee and scones and pastries and ... We meet at Hubbards and Craven's coffee cafe at 4930 N. Pennsylvania (49th and Pennsylvania in Meridian Kessler/Broad Ripple area). Northwest corner, tucked away behind the TCBY/Noble Romans pizza. Occasionally, I'll send out info on a few other groups that have chess opportunities (Wed night in Irvington, the Indianapolis Abstract Strategy Gamers Meetup that meets Thursday nights and some Sundays, a chess club around Fountain square, a Saturday afternoon chess group at the College Library (42nd street), etc.
