The Castleton Dog Scout of America Troup July Meetup

Hi all! Our May meeting was indeed a small one (I think everyone was out hoping the day would turn bright and beautiful!) but very informative. Sarah did a wonderful job on the last of her Travel Safety presentation. Our June meeting will NOT be held at Best Friends. Please read the following information if you are interested in coming. I expect it will be a lot of fun. I am also requesting, (for any of you interested in helping me to work with Lugnut on his Search and Rescue training) to bring along an older t-shirt that has your smell on it. (you can sleep with it in your bed the night before) That way he will have a strong scent to work with. He is only working on straight searches right now (no corners) so it won't be time consuming or difficult. I hope to see many of you there! It's always great to get out and play with the dogs! JUNE 13: FUN @ THE PARK!! meet at Subway over by Ft Ben Harrison SP, grab lunch to take over. We'll share the ride in (some of us have SP passes). Picnic, trails, if you want can work towards badges in letterboxing, backpacking, pack dog, clean up America I & II. OR just wander aimlessly. Fun time @ the park and outside!! *Gayle JULY 11: SIGN LANGUAGE FOR DOGS, Stacie will be sharing with us. Meeting 11 AM- Best Friends. *Stacie AUGUST 8: BIRTHDAY PARTY AND SWIM DAY!!! Melissa and Cash in charge. We will be celebrating everyone birthday and going to a bark park with a pond, picnic to follow. *Melissa SEPT 12: Social -- prepare for campout, and potential future meeting to video off badges. Ideas for 2010 from the group for activities/speakers you would like to have. **Everyone SEPT 25-27 (2 NIGHTS) 2ND ANNUAL CAMPOUT--ANDERSON INDIANA. Activities will include canoe/kayaking/ hiking/letterboxing, campfire, smores, bedtime stories--and good times!! OCT 31 (note last Saturday /not 2nd)-- HALLOWEEN PARTY!!! Everyone can dress up! / Pitch in. *Sarah NOV 14: anyone interested in video to earn badge? social gathering, Plan community out reach: meals on wheels for next meeting. *Everyone DECEMBER: 12: CHRISTMAS PARTY. 2nd Annual gift exchange and putting together care packages. *Kristi-organizer for the party. *everyone for the gifts/and care packages.
