	ditions currently practiced\, there is some confusion as to the basic 
	principles which Siddatha Gotama (563 BC – 480 BC) himself taught to 
	the order of monks\, nuns and laity. This talk presents basic Buddhist
	 concepts derived directly from the canonical discourses (suttas) of t
	he Buddha himself\, as translated from the oldest extant Sinahalese ma
	nuscripts of the original Pali. We will review the Four Noble Truths\,
	 the Eightfold Path\, annica (impermanence)\, annata (non-self)\, sila
	s (moralities)\, samadhi (concentration)\, vipassana (insight)\, dhamm
	a (doctrine) and nibbana (extinction). Etan Boritzer is a yoga teacher
	 and has studied Eastern philosophy and practiced meditation and vario
	us spiritual disciplines since 1968 with teachers in India\, China\, J
	apan and the United States. He is the best selling children’s book au
	thor of What Is God? as well as 9 other books in the “What is?” seri
	es now translated and published in 12 languages\, and also sold contin
