DESCRIPTION:  If your "Kiss Me\, I'm Irish" T-shirt comes out only on 
	St. Patrick's Day\, then you obviously have never been to the Alexandr
	ia Irish Festival. Sponsored by the Ballyshaners\, an Alexandria nonpr
	ofit group whose name means "Old Towners" in Gaelic\, the event promot
	es Irish music and culture\, with part of the proceeds from food and d
	rink sales funding the group's annual St. Patrick's Day parade. Pat Tr
	oy's Alexandria restaurant caters the event\, serving such typical Iri
	sh fare as corned beef and cabbage and Irish stew. Pipe bands\, bagpip
	ers\, singers and Irish dance troupes perform throughout the day. And 
	of course\, it wouldn't be an Irish festival without Guinness and Smit
	hwick's on tap. So throw on a piece of green clothing and celebrate th
