DESCRIPTION: Now in its 21st season\, the Avalanche Awareness course\,
	 presented by Ridge Explorations\, reflects more than 35 years of back
	country skiing experience\,?guiding and professional avalanche trainin
	g. The program includes six hours of classroom instruction and one day
	 of field work\, covering terrain\, snow observations\, safe travel\, 
	and rescue. Avalanche Awareness can be upgraded to a Level 1 Certifica
	tion by taking an extra\, optional field trip. Instructors are profess
	ional members of the American Avalanche Association and affiliate memb
