DESCRIPTION:Electric Works is pleased to announce "The Airport Project
	” featuring collaborative work by Amanda Hughen and Jennifer Starkwe
	ather as well as original solo work by each artist.\n\nStarkweather an
	d Hughen create collaborative artworks that explore the layers\, compl
	exities\, and patterns that comprise a specific geographic location us
	ing both current and historic information\, photographs\, maps\, and o
	ther data. The resulting artworks represent unique forms and patterns 
	derived from constructed systems and natural movements around a specif
	ic locus.\n\n“The Airport Project” is a new collaborative series o
	f six prints in which the artists isolate and overlap forms and patter
	ns based on seven airports. Each airport is the subject of an artwork 
	— Chicago O’Hare (ORD)\, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta (ATL)\, John F
	 Kennedy (JFK)\, Los Angeles (LAX)\, Miami (MIA) — with the exceptio
	n of the San Francisco and Oakland (SFO/OAK) airports which were combi
	ned to create a single piece.\n\nThe original work\, which travels bac
	k and forth from one artist’s studio to the other\, receives new mar
	ks upon each visit. On one layer\, Starkweather drew with ink\, graphi
	te and gouache to articulate the individual routes of airlines that or
	iginate from each airport. On additional layers\, Hughen mapped the va
	rious services available at each terminal\; various airline departures
	\; and color systems used for airport parking garages. She also create
	d solid color shapes based on the runways and highways surround ing ea
	ch airport.\n\nGALLERY HOURS: Monday-Friday 11 AM – 6 PM\, Saturday
