DESCRIPTION: Come join the winter fun as REI and Kirkwood host the ann
	ual National Winter Trails Day event at Kirkwood Cross Country Ski Are
	a and Snowshoe Center. On Saturday\, January 10\, 2009 snowshoe vendor
	s\, including Atlas\, MSR\, and Tubbs\, will offer free snowshoe demos
	 from 10am-3pm and REI Outdoor School instructors will provide guided 
	snowshoe tours on designated trails at Kirkwood.  Participants can als
	o visit variety of educational stations covering winter recreation\, s
	uch as overnight camping and outerwear essentials. Eldorado Nordic Ski
	 Patrol will feature backcountry travel concepts\, including avalanche
	 awareness\, navigation\, and safety while Sierra School of Survival w
	ill share tips for putting together cold weather emergency kits for ve
	hicles and backpacks\, as well as other wilderness skills for winter t
	ravel.  Kirkwood will offer FREE mini ski lessons from 10am-2pm. This 
	free package includes the lesson\, an equipment rental\, and a trail p
	ass. Daily trail users can also enjoy a $6 discount on Kirkwood Trail

	od Cross Country Ski Area and Snowshoe Center is located 1/2 mile east
	 of Kirkwood Mountain Resort on Highway 88 and is adjacent to the Kirk
