	estic violence? How can you help a battered woman’s children? In this
	 interactive session we’ll discuss the effects on children of life wi
	th a battering parent\, and ways you can make a positive difference.\n
	 \nAUDIENCE\nParent educators\, case managers\, health and mental hea
	lth providers\, child care providers\, home visitors\, child developme
	nt specialists\, family advocates\, direct service staff\, supervisors
	\, and others working with young children and families.\n \nABOUT THE
	 TRAINER\nLinda Arata is an Early Childhood Educator and has worked wi
	th at-risk families for over 16 years.  She has served as Children’s
	 Services Coordinator for Volunteers of America’s domestic violence i
	ntervention program\, Home Free\, since 1999\, working with families i
	n shelter and playing a lead role in developing outreach services for 
	children. She is co-creator of “Safe Spaces: A Support Group Curricul
	um for Children Exposed to Domestic Violence.” In 2004\, Linda was re
	cognized by Multnomah County’s Public Safety and Family Violence Coor
	dinating Councils for her work with children exposed to batterers. She
	 is a sought-after trainer and speaker on the effects of domestic viol
