DESCRIPTION:  Our second event was another roaring success. I am so pr
	oud. Carrie and her team made it a very special Veteran's Day weekend 
	at the VA nursing home. (The cheese tasting fundraiser was a great eve
	nt itself). So\, the Board is Organized and has six great ideas (three
	 more to go). We have to get moving on our January service project now
	 and Earth day planning will be kicking into high gear soon. Lets take
	 a couple hours to brainstorm and come up with a time table and plan t
	o implement our great ideas. Celia will be taking the lead and helping
	 us to focus on our goals and the steps we need to take to make those 
	goals happen. I hope you can all make it. If you missed the earlier me
	etings and want to help out\, come on out. We can use all the help we 
	can get. See you there. Carl Projects: 2. Dog hike fundraiser for the 
	PSPCA. Sue\, Karen and Susan are the lead people on this event. They w
	ill work together with Em (from spca). We will charge people $15 to go
	 hiking with their dog on guided hikes through a local park. Wissahiko
	n and Valley Forge have been mentioned. Sue has a lot of ideas to add 
	on like photos\, homemade treats\, a raffle\, sponsorship and a happy 
	hour. Sue and Susan will need help on this. It is scheduled for Octobe
	r 5. 3. Veterans' Day project. Rico\, Sean\, Celia\, Vanessa and Susan
	 are the leads on this one. The date is set for November 9. This is a 
	project to help local veterans. It is not set in stone. It could be an
	 activity based event like hiking or outdoor sports. I look forward to
	 hearing what will happen. I am sure they will need help. 4. Holiday S
	ervice – Sean\, Susan and Amy are the leads on this one. No date is s
	et. But\, we decided to do this in January when the rush of holiday vo
	lunteers subsides. The idea is to work in a facility serving the poor.
	 If we get in a bind for ideas we could do Philabundence again. As thi
	s project gels they will need help. 5. Earth Day Cleanup – Carl and R
	aija are the lead on this. This is our flagship service project. Our g
	oal this year is 150 volunteers\, to secure donations of food for all 
	volunteers\, to secure donations of trees and plants for planting and 
	to expand it into at least one more county. We could use two or three 
	more people to help on this. 6. Recreation Center Cleanup – Sean\, Ri
	co\, Amy and Celia are the leads on this one. This is really exciting 
	and I am very much looking forward to seeing this one come together. W
	e will be working with the city to fix up a rec center so kids have a 
	safe place to go. This will be in June.\n
