DESCRIPTION:Born in New York City\, Kevin Dorn took up drumming at the
	 age of 14. Since then\, he has become one of the busiest drummers in 
	traditional jazz. A solid timekeeper in the tradition of Cliff Leeman\
	, Kevin’s exciting career has included performances with artists suc
	h as Dan Barrett\, Ed Polcer\, Johnny Varro\, Bob Wilber\, Dan Levinso
	n and Howard Alden. Kevin has performed with the Loren Schoenberg Big 
	Band\, The Flipped Fedoras\, New Orleans Hot Jazz\, and many others.Ke
	vin has played at jazz festivals and jazz parties  throughout the coun
	try\, including the JVC Jazz Festival\, Jazz at Chautauqua and the Los
	 Angeles Sweet and Hot Music Festival. Kevin has also toured Japan wit
	h the New York Ragtime Orchestra. Kevin’s own band\, the Traditional
	 Jazz Collective (TJC)\, has received praise from The New York Times\,
	 The Mississippi Rag\, The Smithsonian Magazine\, and Cadence Magazine
	. They perform every Monday night at The Cajun in New York City and ha
	ve also appeared at concerts\, festivals and new York’s famed Rainbo
	w Room. Kevin has taught drumming at the Mangattan School of Music\, t
	he United Nations International School\, and the Stanford Summer Jazz

	style brought to the stage by Jazz greats such as Louis Armstrong\, Ki
	d Ory\, King Oliver\, Sidney Bechet\, Jelly Roll Morton and Earl Hines
	 in the early 1920s. This New Orleans style of playing also shares its
	 roots with bluegrass and ragtime music
