	 guardian\nThis is a Seated-In-The-Round event.\n\nKathleen Supové
is one of America's most acclaimed and versatile contemporary music pi
anists. She regularly presents a series of solo concerts entitled The
Exploding Piano\, in which she has performed and premiered works by th
e world's leading composers as well as countless emerging ones. The Ex
ploding Piano is a multimedia experience that employs theatrical eleme
	nts\, vocal rants\, performance art\, staging\, electronics\, and coll
aboration with artists from other disciplines. Kathleen has appeared w
ith The Lincoln Center Festival\, The Philip Glass Ensemble\, Bang On
	a Can Marathon\, Music at the Anthology\, The Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane
Dance Company\, and other venues\, ranging from concert halls to thea
trical spaces to clubs. Her most recent CD is INFUSION\, released on t
he International Classics label\, which features music for solo piano
and electronics. Other recordings can be found on the Tzadik\, CRI\, I
	nnova\, New World\, Neuma\, Bridge\, Centaur\, OO\, and XI labels.\n\n
Morgan Packard’s sound is rooted in a decade’s immersion in
beat-based electronic music and informed by periods of intense study o
f jazz\, western classical music\, and computer programming. The struc
ture of Morgan’s music begins with loop-based electronica. Howeve
r he uses software of his own creation to subtly disrupt the “loo
pness” inherent in this form. Every iteration of a loop has incre
mental changes\, which over time becomes something entirely different
from its origin. The constantly shifting textures is due both to the s
oftware techniques employed and the hand guiding the results. Morgan c
arefully nudges the arrangements into music that pays homage to a host
of techniques and styles that have come before it\; taking those idea
s and stretching them into new forms\; adhering to select guidelines\,
	 while disregarding most.
