DESCRIPTION:Hailing from California\, Joseph moved to New York City in
	 1996 to pursue his music studies as a scholarship student at the accl
	aimed New School University jazz program.  During his time there he ha
	d the opportunity to study saxophone with Jesse Davis and David Glasse
	r as well as pursuing private studies with Junior Mance\, Charles Toll
	iver\, and Jimmy Owens. He was selected as featured soloist for the 19
	98 Disney Collegiate All-Star Jazz Band and worked extensively for var
	ious cruise-lines and “club date” ensembles.  Today\, Joseph is ve
	ry active on the New York City music scene as both a performer and com
	poser.  As an instrumentalist he has had the good fortune to work with
	 many top names in jazz including: Junior Mance\, Benny Powell\, Georg
	e Coleman\, Vanessa Ruben\, the Duke Ellington Orchestra\, Cab Callowa
	y Orchestra\, Bobby Sanabria’s Afro-Cuban Dream Band\, James “Jabb
	o” Ware\, Charlie Persip and Supersound\, the Harlem Renaissance Orc
	hestra\, trumpeter Eddie Allen’s big band\, and Jazz Messenger Valer
	y Ponomarev’s Jazz Orchestra.  His non-jazz work includes the O’Ja
	ys\, the Platters\, and R&B superstar Beyonce\, and many latin/salsa e
	nsembles in NYC. In 2006 Joseph was selected to be in the inaugural ed
	ition of the Jazz Camerata\, a jazz septet sponsored by the Youth Orch
	estra of the Americas and composed of musicians from all over North an
	d South America.  This group travels the world giving clinics and perf
	orming concerts.   In addition\, Joseph leads his own sextet “Techni
	cal Blak” which features his original compositions.  This sextet is 
	made up of some of the finest young talent in NYC including Jerome Jen
	nings on drums\, Matt Rybicki on bass\, Dion Tucker on trombone\, and 
	many more.  He also leads a quartet with Oscar Perez on piano and Jero
	me Jennings on drums that focuses on a mix of originals and standards.
	 Joseph’s latest project as a composer is being musical director and
	 arranger for the “Diamond Dreams Orchestra”\, an ensemble dedicat
	ed to the music of the 1920’s featuring many of today’s finest mus
	icians\, including Earl May\, James Zollar\, and Alex Harding.  In add
	ition\, he freelances as a composer/arranger for film and jazz ensembl
	es.
