DESCRIPTION:  John Scott is one of Louisiana's most celebrated artists
	 of the past 50 years. Born in New Orleans and raised in the Lower Nin
	th Ward\, Scott attended Xavier University where he later became a pro
	fessor. Scott's work was influenced by jazz and the variety of culture
	s present in his native city. Scott worked in a variety of media\, alt
	hough he is widely known for his metal sculpture\, which ranged from s
	mall works to monumental public sculptures. This exhibition is organiz
	ed in conjuntion with Arthur Roger Gallery in New Orleans. \n
