DESCRIPTION:A series of works by William Helm titled “Numinous Space
	\; Towards an Architecture of Contemplation” opens Friday\, June 6 a
	t the Las Cruces Museum of Art.  The opening reception will be part of
	 the First Friday Ramble from 5-7 p.m.  This exhibit will be on displa
	y in the Main Gallery through Saturday\, August 16.\n \n\nArchitect Wi
	lliam Helm explores the concept of sacred space\, specific to the Chih
	uahuan Desert.  The exhibition is composed of a video installation\, s
	cale models\, and architectural drawings for theoretical structures lo
	cated in Chaparral\, New Mexico.  Together these elements propose a sp
	ace for contemplation and immersion in the desert landscape.  William 
	Helm divides his time between Chapparral and Buffalo\, New York.  He r
	eceived his Masters in Architecture from the University of Buffalo Sch
	ool of Architecture and Planning.\n\n \nOn Saturday\, July 19\, Helm w
	ill give a free lecture on his work at the Branigan Cultural Center\, 
	beginning at 11 a.m.  Branigan Cultural Center\, 501 N. Main\, is loca
	ted at the north end of the downtown mall.\n\n \nConcurrently at the M
	useum of Art\, visitors can see “The Architecture of Time\,” works
	 by Dana Kroos and Laura Scandrett\, and “Hour after Hour of Thought
	 and Analysis\,” works by Susan Murrell.  All exhibits and reception
	s at the Museum\, located at 491 N. Main St. in the downtown mall\, ar
