DESCRIPTION:A new exhibition titled “The Architecture of Time\,” a
	 collaboration between artists Dana Kroos and Laura Scandrett\, opens 
	Friday\, June 6 at the Las Cruces Museum of Art.  The opening receptio
	n will be part of the First Friday Ramble from 5-7 p.m.  This exhibit 
	will be on display in the Main Gallery through Saturday\, August 16.\n
	\nWorks by Laura Scandrett are charcoal on paper and inspired by the 1
	948 edition of The Book of Knowledge\, a children’s encyclopedia set
	.  This series of black and white drawings is further unified by an ex
	ploration of pattern and moments of reflection.  “In my drawings I a
	m exploring the contrast and coexistence of the natural world and the 
	technological or man-made realm\,” says Scandrett.  Laura Scandrett 
	currently resides in Santa Fe.\n\nDana Kroos presents a series of ston
	eware sculptures exploring the relationship between people and the lan
	dscape.  According to Kroos\, “My work aims to blur the boundaries b
	etween the architecture of the body and the man-made architectures of 
	buildings\, boats\, planes and other vessels.”  Her ceramic pieces u
	se symbolism to tell unconventional narratives\, inspired in part by A
	boriginal Australian skeletal maps and Mung tapestries.  Dana Kroos cu
	rrently resides in Las Cruces.\n\nConcurrently at the Museum of Art\, 
	visitors can see “Numinous Space\; Towards an Architecture of Contem
	plation\,” works by William Helm\, and “Hour after Hour of Thought
	 and Analysis\,” works by Susan Murrell.  All exhibits and reception
