	 will present a special event "The Civil War in Jacksonville" Living H
	istory Weekend. The event will be held at Fort Caroline National Memor
	ial and will showcase how the Civil War impacted Jacksonville and Nort
	heast Florida during the years 1861-1865. The event will be open and f
	ree to the public 10:00 am to 4:00 pm each day.The Civil War was fough
	t in all southern states\, Florida included\, yet few people are aware
	 of the battles and naval engagements that occurred here in Jacksonvil
	le. The Union Navy blockaded St. Johns River and patrolled as far sout
	h as Green Cove Springs.Living historians in period costumes will port
	ray: infantry soldiers of both the North and the South\; including Uni
	on gunboat sailors\, marines\, artillery crews\, engineers\, doctors a
	nd nurses\, military musicians\, and chaplains. Civilian life will als
	o be portrayed showing how ordinary citizens survived during the war."
