	 of Japanese brothers Hiroshi and Kenji\, who are forced to put their 
	dreams on hold in the wake of World War II and find their destinies in
	tertwining with those of a famous sumo master and master maker of Noh 
	masks. The event is sponsored by the Hayward Public Library\, the Frie
	nds of the Hayward Public Library\, and the American Association of Un
	iversity Women Hayward/Castro Valley branch. Tsukiyama's books will be
	 on sale at the event\, and the author will be available to sign copie

	s\, including Women of the Silk (1991) and The Samurai's Garden (1995)
	. She was born in San Francisco\, California\, to a Chinese mother fro
	m Hong Kong and a Japanese father from Hawaii. She attended San Franci
	sco State University where she received both her Bachelor of Arts Degr
	ee and a Master of Arts Degree in English with the emphasis in Creativ
	e Writing. She is a recipient of the Academy of American Poets Award a
	nd the PEN Oakland/Josephine Miles Literary Award. She divides her tim
