DESCRIPTION: The Winners Walk of Hope\, in support of Ovarian Cancer C
	anada\, was founded in 2002 by Peggy Truscott\, a dedicated volunteer 
	and a woman with ovarian cancer. Peggy saw the need to develop more vi
	sible support and a sense of community for women and their families to
	uched by this disease. Her vision was to host a hopeful and cheerful e
	vent\, a walk in the park with family and friends. It's a day filled w
	ith hope and support\, creating a greater awareness around ovarian can
	cer. To date the Walk of Hope has raised over $4.5 million. Funds rais
	ed by the walk go directly to supporting Ovarian Cancer Canada's progr
	ams and services for women living with ovarian cancer and their famili
	es\, raising awareness\, and funding research to develop early detecti
	on techniques\, improved treatment and\, ultimately\, a cure. Ovarian 
	Cancer Canada is the only national registered charity in Canada dedica
	ted to overcoming ovarian cancer. Each year\, over 2500 Canadian women
	 are diagnosed with ovarian cancer and sadly\, 1700 succumb to the dis
	ease annually\, making it the most serious of all gynecological cancer
