DESCRIPTION:In conjunction with the Las Cruces Police Department\, the
	 Las Cruces Museum of Natural History will be hosting a demonstration 
	by the K9 unit at the JCPenney courtyard at Mesilla Valley Mall on Aug
	ust 9\, 2008 at 11:00 am & 1:00 pm.  This demonstration goes along wit
	h the current exhibition at LCMNH: Crime Lab Detective.\n\nThe K9 unit
	 of the Las Cruces Police Department is a specialized unit that is tra
	ined to detect various substances crucial to law enforcement.  The uni
	t has several dogs trained to detect drugs and explosives.  Come to th
	e museum to watch the dogs and their handlers demonstrate how these su
	bstances are detected.\n\nIn addition to the demonstration\, the Las C
	ruces Police Crime Scene Unit will be at Mesilla Valley Mall from 10:0
	0 am - 2:00 pm with some of their vehicles and crime scene equipment a
	vailable for the public to view and investigators will be available to
	 answer questions about their duties.\n\nAfter the demonstration\, we 
	invite everyone to come to the museum and try your hand at being a det
	ective and solving a mystery of the Crime Lab Detective exhibition.\n\
