	and operational achievements in space. The AIAA SPACE 2008 Conference 
	& Exposition will reflect on these issues and more\, while providing d
	irection for future actions.\n\nThis event will be attended by leaders
	 from all elements of the space community\, including key government a
	nd business decision makers\, providing an unparalleled forum for exch
	ange and dialogue. Topics of discussion will include:\n\n    * How is 
	the role of National Security Space changing in light of our recent ex
	perience fighting the global war on terror?\n    * What new space capa
	bilities does the Department of Defense need? What role will space pla
	y in homeland defense?\n    * How will NASA\, NOAA\, and USGS implemen
	t a global earth observation system-of-systems?\n    * What will the f
	uture of space exploration be in the next decade?\n    * What are the 
	challenges and opportunities relating to continued growth in commercia
	l space?\n    * What are the technologies currently under development 
	that will allow further utilization of space?\n    * How do we better 
	support foundational technologies?\n    * What is being done to ensure
	 there is a strong and competent aerospace workforce to support future
	 space activities?\n    * What policy and regulatory issues must be ad
	dressed to facilitate future international collaborations?\n\nAIAA SPA
	CE 2008 will provide researchers\, developers\, and management from go
	vernment\, industry\, and academia an opportunity to reflect upon the 
	progress over the past decade\, and debate how to best focus the great
	 talent and resources of the space community on the future. Invited sp
	eakers and panelists will provide a unique perspective on key issues\,
	 setting the stage for continuing discussion throughout the program. T
	his conference complements other more specialized meetings by offering
	 both a top-down and bottom-up perspective on interdisciplinary capabi
	lities and space systems\, making this meeting the “must attend” c
