Only some of this was true.The Pork Dukes rele ased their first single ‘Bend & Flush' in the heady summer of 1977\, and the rude content and cover of the single helped it sell over 20\, 000 copies.Although the notorious Pork Dukes had three UK ind ie hit s ingles and two album releases\, they received no radio airplay. "It was a true revelation to me\, I had finally found m y niche" stated Erik. After a few years of developing a large D.C. area fan base\, t he band started spreading its live shows out across multiple states al ong the mid-eastern seaboard.It was last fall\, when on a whim\, the b and contacted renowned producer Garth Richardson who has worked with t he likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Rage Against the Machine. Richar dson liked what he heard and invited the guys up to Vancouver to spend December and January recording the band's first full-length album in his studio. "It was the best decision we ever made\," Adam says. "It w as intimidating as hell to walk in Garth's office and see all these pl atinum records around. What was really amazing was that Garth was able to take our sound and somehow make it even more bob. He got an amazin g dynamic going between us." The band spent 12 to 15 hours a day for a month in the studio with Richardson\, taking only a well-deserved hal f day on New Year's Eve. "It was a life-changing experience\," accordi ng to Matt. "Garth was unbelievable in the way he knew how to handle e verybody and the best way to get everything out of me that I had and e verything out of everyone else. My name is Trevor. I play music ...and love doing it. It has been a wonderful teacher\, friend\, and c ompanion over the years. This is the part where I tell you a little ab out my life... so far. I grew up in South Carolina until the age of 16 . I had a wonderful childhood\, a great family\, and good friends. I s tarted playing music fairly young. My dad was a drummer and a musician himself. I guess I got some of his genes. Every day after school\, I would come home\, pick up my guitar\, and write songs for a couple hou rs. It was my favorite time of the whole day. I began playing for my p arents\, who supported me to the fullest. For my 15th or 16th birthday \, my dad got me some time in his friend's recording studio. I made my first record\, which was mostly sold to my friends and family. It was at that time when my family and I started taking the music more serio usly.In 10th grade\, I was very fortunate to have traveled to Californ ia to attend Idyllwild School for the Arts\, an international boarding school east of Los Angeles. My time there was some of the best years of my life. I studied classical guitar and met many wonderful people f rom around the world who greatly influenced my life in a profound way. My greatest lesson there was observing how art spoke to everyone...no matter what race\, what faith\, or what country you were from. I saw how it brought people together\, and that made me feel good.In my seni or year of high school\, I signed a record deal with Geffen Records. A fter graduation\, I moved to LA to give my music full attention. I was very blessed to have worked with great producers such as John Alagia (John Mayer\, Jason Mraz\, Dave Matthews) and The Laboriel Brothers (S ting\, Paul Mccartney). Unfortunately\, other than an EP\, none of the records I made with Geffen ever came out. They dropped me from the la bel in 2008. But that didn't deter me. I picked up my guitar\, wrote 1 4 new songs\, and recorded an acoustic album with my good friend/percu ssionist Chris Steele. We have named that album "This is Blue." It was a wonderful\, liberating experience. I feel very lucky to still have the opportunity to create music with good friends and people.Over the years\, I have toured and played with wonderful acts such as Steel Pul se\, The Wailers\, Matisyahu\, Stevie Nicks\, Ben Harper\, Colbie Cail lat\, Los Lobos\, Ziggy Marley\, Rusted Root\, and many others. It has been such a blessing to cross paths with so many beautiful people and wonderful musicians. They all have influenced me so much.My favorite part of the whole thing thus far is meeting new people on the road. It is funny how people come together\, connect\, and establish friendshi ps.
