DESCRIPTION:  Meet at the Stone Cup coffee shop in Lyons at 7:00 AM fo
	r this fairly strenuous hike to the 12\,162 foot summit of St. Vrain M
	ountain. An early start is needed to avoid afternoon thunderstorms. Th
	e hike is between 10 and 11 miles\, round trip\, with 3300 feet of ele
	vation gain. I expect us to climb up in about 3-4 hours\, so if you ca
	nnot average 1000 feet per hour\, this may be too difficult for you. T
	he views from the summit are spectacular. Since the peak stands relati
	vely by itself you can see many other peaks far away. There may be som
	e snow near the summit\, but I think we can go around it. Well behaved
	 dogs are welcome. Most of the hike is inside the Indian Peaks Wildern
	ess\, where dogs must be on leash. We will probably get back to Lyons 
	around 5PM. If anyone wants to join me at Oscar Blues after the hike y
	ou are most welcome. (The food at Oscar Blues goes very well with endo
	rphins.) If you would just like to come to Oscar Blues\, let me know.
