	ia in 1968 and got to know Miss Day. Their friendship evolved into an 
	offer to work for her long-time idol as her personal secretary\, a pos
	ition she held for more than four years\, part of that time in residen
	ce\, as the only person outside of family to ever have lived in the st
	ar's home. While Barothy worked for the actress and singer\, there was
	 plenty of action when Miss Day was fighting to regain her fortune\, s
	tarring in a hit TV series and beginning her career as an animal right
	s advocate.\n\nDuring that time\, the Indianapolis author socialized w
	ith many well-known celebrities including Doris' son Terry\, a record
