DESCRIPTION: Nestled on the Merrimac and PowWow rivers\, Amesbury has 
	grown signifcantly since it was first incorporated in 1630. Although o
	nce widely known for carriage making\, the town quickly came into larg
	er industries such as shipbuillding and mills. The walk features sever
	al parks including\, Alliance Park\, where the Frigate Alliance was bu
	ilt. It was one of the first war vessels built in America\, serving as
	 a flagship for John Paul Jones. The walk also passes the Amesbury hom
	e of John Greenleaf Whittier\, other historic sites\, views of the Mer
	rimac and PowWow rivers and a 2K riverwalk along a walk/bike path.
