Start anytime during Center hours: 9:00am-4:30pm Tuesday-Saturday. Sundays-12pm-4:30pm Sun. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. Historical sites included in the walk are Sam Houston Memorial Park and Museum, Walls Unit-Department of Criminal Justice, Sam Houston State University, Sam Houston's Grave and Monument, Oakwood Cemetery , Walker County Courthouse and Gibbs Powell Museum.
