The Pope John Paul II Forum for the Church in the Modern World and the Center for Thomistic Studies are sponsoring a public lecture by George Weigel, author of Witness to Hope: The Biography of Pope John Paul II (1999) and The End and the Beginning: Pope John Paul II--The Victory of Freedom, the Last Years, the Legacy (2010).
Weigel’s lecture, “Benedict XVI and Blessed John Paul II: Two Popes, One Mission,” will be held on Sunday, February 12th at 6:00 p.m. in Cemo Auditorium at St Thomas High School, 4500 Memorial Drive, Houston. The lecture is free and open to the public. Free parking is available on site at the STHS parking garage.
Before the lecture, come to a reception in Moody Hall on the St. Thomas High School Campus to meet George Weigel and hear about the new joint venture between the Pontifical Academy, the Center for Thomistic Studies, and the John Paul II Forum. The reception will be held in Mary Moody Hall from 4:15 to 5:45 p.m. just prior to the lecture. Although the lecture is free, you must RSVP to Valerie Hall at 713-525-3591 if you will be attending the reception.
