WE'RE GOING TO THE REN FEST! Description: The Texas Renaissance Festival is one of the nation's largest, most acclaimed renaissance theme parks where the sights, sounds, tastes and beauty of the 16th century come alive. How To Find Us: Come out and join us. The schedule for the day will allow you to find us at any time you want. This way you can come for the whole day, or come and go with the group as you please. Show up whenever you'd like to. We plan to stay for the fireworks at dusk, then stay and party at the big bonfire and camp afterwords. Cell phones are spotty out there so I would suggest texting. Close to the 14th, I'll send my number out to all RSVPs. BRAD WILL BE THERE AT 10 AM TO HOST. I WILL BE THERE ABOUT 2:30. WE WILL BOTH BE CAMPING AFTER THE PARTY AT THE BONFIRE. SEE YOU THERE! RUSS AND BRAD Schedule: (We'll try to arrive 15 minutes early to each show for good seats.) 10am Breakfast/snack Frozen mango smoothie 75 yards left of the entrance 10:30am The Ded Bob Show (Ventriloquist who uses audience volunteers to tell a funny story) Globe Theater 11:30am The Other Brothers (Comedic duo juggles torches, etc. around audience volunteer) Globe Theater 12:20pm Snack time -Sour Old Skull Pub at left of The Odeon; Chicken, beer, hot chocolate, mead -Roasted Almonds; cart in front of The Odeon 12:30pm Sound and Fury (Nouveau-vaudeville troupe doing Shakespeare-style plays with a somewhat crude, yet funny, spin; Rated PG-13) The Odeon 1:30pm Arsene (Very talented & seasoned French Vaudeville actor; demands strict audience attention, participation & punctuality; enforces immediate punishments to rule breakers. Do not change seats or look at a magazine before or during his performance; he will find you.) The Odeon 2:30pm The Sturdy Beggars (Audience-driven battle of sides; loser eats mud. Hint: arrive extra early & sit in the middle of the front row.) The Mud Pit 3:30pm Shunyata (Highly entertaining, upbeat, choreographed tribal-style belly dance trio with swords and some impressive ballet-meets-extreme-yoga moves) Castle Theater Stage 4:50pm Snack time -Black Forest Inn, La Fiesta, and Fruitful Endeavors (all between The Globe Theater and the Castle Stage) 5pm Cast in Bronze (music from another world created with 2 tons of bronze bells. Must be heard to believe!) The Cloister Stage 6pm Gypsy Dance Theater (Music, Song & dance) Agora Stage Dusk Royal Fireworks (Final event) The Arena (Followed by walk to the bonfire for those who wish to stay a bit longer or who are camping overnight.) Carpool: The earlier you arrive, the less traffic you'll get stuck in on the way there. Feel free to carpool with someone, as well. Mention whether or not you're open to carpool in your RSVP so that others can contact you about it. Photos: Here are photos from our last visit.
