Event details: REA Summer Energy Lecture:Business Strategies for Global ...
Description
The presentation is designed for people whose education and experience are in technical disciplines but who want and need exposure to business subjects related to the energy industry.
Energy is constantly in the news with conflicting stories of demand and supply, costs and prices, âenergy security,â and on and on. Do the old models still work or is completely new thinking required? What about the current political environment in Washington? So what are companies to do? Where does âtruthâ lie? How can we get our thinking straight?
We will focus on understanding business strategies in the global energy industry. Professionals are interested in building their business strategy acumen â going beyond strategy formulation to the cross-functional actions needed to deliver results. Newcomers can gain an overview of strategy issues in the industry, and experienced leaders can explore sectors outside their day-to-day purview.
We will dissect the major issues affecting different sectors of the energy industry and will discuss how to establish priorities and formulate methods for attaining organizational goals. The content uses case studies and industry examples.
