Experience the excitement of the Metropolitan Opera LIVE in HD on the Big Screen!

Metropolitan Opera Live in HD, a series of live telecasts to movie theaters, may be American opera's most exciting advance in decades.

The Met's experiment of merging film with live performance has created a new art form,” said the Los Angeles Times of the groundbreaking series of live, high-definition performance transmissions to movie theatres around the world.

The Met's groundbreaking series of live, high-definition performance transmissions to movie theaters around the world expands in its third season.

To meet increasing global demand, The Met: Live in HD will present 11 transmissions in 2008–09, up from eight. The HD productions will be seen in almost 800 venues and a number of new countries in South America and Europe are joining the network this season.

Don't miss the chance to experience the Met live at your local movie theater!

Saturday, November 22: La Damnation de Faust LIVE

NEW PRODUCTION

The LIVE transmission of Berlioz's La Damnation de Faust will be shown for one day only on Saturday, November 22nd at 1 PM ET / 10 AM PT in select theatres nationwide.

Marcello Giordani stars in the title role opposite Susan Graham as Marguerite and John Relyea as Méphistophélès. James Levine conducts this rarely staged masterwork.

Conductor: James Levine; Production: Robert Lepage; Susan Graham, Marcello Giordani, John Relyea
