Crossing Togo will be releasing their debut album, "Of Love, Scorn &
Insecurity" on Thursday, November 19 at McGonigel's Mucky Duck and will be hitting the stage at 7:30 p.m. for a two set performance.
About the project:
Brought together via Craigslist, Scott Spencer and Ko have an undeniable
connection when it comes to completing each other's musical thoughts. Scotthas been playing guitar and writing songs - some of which made it on to this album - for decades. The tracks were purely instrumental until Ko came onto the scene, effortlessly composing lyrics for the songs after a briefing of Scott's intentions behind each one.
Eric Jarvis, Houston-based producer and owner of crushpad studios, was
highly impressed with the music and enthusiastically provided "Sherpa-like
guidance" to the project. Determined to complete the circle of brilliance
behind this album, Eric enlisted phenomenal musicians for the album
recording who have recorded with some of the most recognizable names in music. Drummer Matt Johnson (Jeff Buckley, Rufus Wainwright, Martha
Wainwright), percussionist Brendan Buckley (Shakira), Ben Peeler (Shakira, The Wallflowers) on lap steel, oud and saz, Kevin Lovejoy (Spoon, Kat Edmonson, John Mayer, Fastball), on piano, organ and keyboards, Max Dyer (Houston Ballet Orchestra, Moons of Jupiter) on cello, and Houston's infamous producer and owner of SugarHill Studios, Dan Workman on SK-1 keyboard.
