The Frida Kahlo Festival was established in 2007 as not only a celebration of the birthday of Frida, but an exploration into the life, art, passions and history of Frida Kahlo. The purpose of this festival is to embody and promote the values of creativity, expression, community, and economic development. The festival is organized by local artists Lizbeth Ortiz, Iris Contreras, Toni Briones and the East End Urban Market.
