The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County present the first annual Tobacco War Pilgrimage from Friday, September 21, through Sunday, September 23.
The weekend begins on Friday at 7PM and 9PM with the annual Night Rider Reenactment, a hayride tour retracing the fiery raid on Hopkinsville in 1907. Ms. Ann's, a local restaurant and tea room, hosts a Historical Dinner Buffet on Friday and Saturday evenings with reservations starting at 5PM.
Saturday's events include a historic homes tour from 11AM to 3PM; viewings of the movie On Bended Knees from 10AM to 3PM at the Pennyroyal Area Museum; and the Trial of the Night Riders, a dramatic performance at 4PM and 7:30PM held in the same historic courtroom where the trial was conducted 101 years ago.
The weekend concludes with Sounds of the Time, a free event on Sunday from 2PM to 5PM that features musical selections in four historic churches in downtown Hopkinsville.
Purchase tickets at TobaccoWarPilgrimage.com or at the Pennyroyal Area Museum starting on September 4. For more information, call (270) 887-4270.
