Walking Event: Oahu - Diamond Head

Start from dawn, finish by dusk. The start box is located behind the concierge desk. DIAMOND HEAD: This walk takes you around Diamond Head in a clock-wise direction and is mostly on sidewalks. You will be passing the Waikiki Aquarium, Honolulu Zoo, and Kapiolani Community College. You will walk through a tunnel to enter Diamond Head Crater. You will continue on a 0.7 mile trail to the summit, climbing 99 steps and a spiral staircase to an old WW II bunker. You will be rewarded with a spectacular 360 degree panoramic view and WHAT A VIEW! It is worth every step. On the return, you will continue going clock-wise around the Crater passing scenic lookouts and the Diamond Head Lighthouse. Don't forget water, sunscreen, and camera. Recommend early start as it is often hot at midday.
