International Holiday Cookie Exchange

Let us help you get ready for the holidays with a cookie swap! Amanda has suggested an international cookie exchange, where each member chooses a culture-specific cookie to share. I'm proposing that we each bring pre-baked cookies to swap AND that we vote on a few recipes we can bake together at the event. We'll start early so we can finish up with a light meal and a cookie tasting. I'm trying to keep this one as close to Christmas as possible, so we an have the freshest possible cookies for the holidays. If you have alternate date suggestions, just let us know! Anyone have cookie swap experience? I'd love to hear suggestions on how many cookies each member should bring and ideas for making our cookie swap a success. Here are some tips I've read: Bake your cookies a couple of days in advance. Apparently it helps make them easier to transport and it prevents no-shows who didn't have time to bake at the last minute. Bring an empty container to take your cookies home. If all goes well, you'll be leaving with all of your holiday cookies in hand! Bring your appetite. We'll have cocktails, buffet-style nibbles and, of course, COOKIES to nosh on while we bake and chat. Let's RSVP with menu ideas, as well, so we can plan a great buffet, too! Please suggest a recipe we can bake together when you RSVP and we'll do a poll prior to the event to choose which cookies to bake on the day. Hope to see you there!
