Legendary contrabass virtuoso Francois Rabbath returns to the Doris Duke Theatre for his fifth concert here. A program of solo and accompanied works will include many of Rabbath's own compositions, famed for their melodic beauty and technical intricacy. This event will launch the 6th Biennial Hawaii Contrabass Festival, of which Rabbath is co-founder. A week long series of workshops, masterclasses, and public performances focused on the largest member of the bowed string instrument, this festival attracts participants from around the world.
