Celtic Waves at The ARTS at Marks Garage

Cost:
Real Irish Music on St. Patricks Day in concert at The ARTS at Marks Garage. Two shows: 7:30 and 9pm

Just steps away from the rowdy street festival crowds outside Murphys & OTooles on Nuuanu Avenue in Chinatown. Celtic Waves plays traditional and contemporary folk music from Ireland and other Celtic lands. The band is well known in the Honolulu Irish pub scene for its spirited music and its warm interaction with the audience. They have played to enthusiastic listeners in concerts at the rRed Elephant, the Atherton Studio for the Performing Arts at Hawaii Public Radio, and Ward's Rafters.

There is something about Irish music and dance that beautifully represents the diverse world music that enriches our planet. There is a reason why we all respond so joyously to Celtic jigs and reels and to Irish warmth and
humor. In addition to frolicking with our human foibles, the music and dance express life at its richest. Please join us and tap your feet, clap your hands, sing along, and even jump up to dance your own jig as we share "ceoil agus craic" (music and fun)!

Featuring Kevin Craven on fiddle, Clark Ratliffe on Irish wooden flutes and whistles, Katie McClellen on harp, octave mandolin, whistle, and vocals, Lawson Cannon on guitars, Irish bouzouki, and vocals, and Susan Reinhart on bodhran, acoustic bass, and vocals.
