Celia's Music Studio-Singer’s Showcase and Open House

Holyoke, MA 11-15-09 10 singers from Celia’s Voice Studio will perform in the Singers’ Showcase and Studio Open House Sunday November 15th 7pm at 380 Dwight Street, 3rd floor, backed by a full pro band, including Joe Boyle, Sturgis Cunningham, John O'Boyle and Mark Herschler. The event is free and open to the public. Drinks and snacks will be provided. For a community vibe, come meet local musicians and teachers, walk along the new canal walk, and hear some great tunes from performers of all ages and experiences.

After expanding to a Holyoke studio in February, Celia’s Voice studio is hopping, with a cadre of 40 students. Renamed Celia’s Music studio, two new teachers are joining: guitarist teacher Mark Hershcler and drummer teacher Lincoln Hubley. “The studio is where all ages and all levels can develop their own capacity for making great music.” Celia says. She hosts workshops by professional percussionists, producers and songwriters, teaches piano, and is a certified Speech Level Singing (SLS) teacher. SLS makes singing as natural and easy as speaking and is used by more than 120 Grammy artists. Deirdre Muccio says “Celia is a wonderful, patient, comic and talented teacher- just the kind of teacher I need."

Mark Herschler also teaches at a Waldorf School in Hudson NY. He plays and performs in a wide variety of styles, including Classical, Rennaissance, Baroque, folk, funk, Blues and Jazz, Samba, Salsa, Soucous, West African, and Flamenco. Internationally known for his soulful songwriting, his own studies have included classical, jazz, western harmony, composition, and Indian Ragas.

Lincoln Hubley has drummed professionally since 1985. Experienced in jazz, rock, funk, blues and pop Lincoln is known for his impeccable timing and ear as well as his leadership in band settings. A full partner with NYC based band, The Very Best, Lincoln drums locally for Shortbus (funk), The Celia Situation (jazz and R&B) as well as for several other projects.

Contact Celia Miller at 413-210-6240or celia@celiasvoicestudio.com and register for lessons at www.celiasmusicstudio.com. She is available for interviews most mornings.

Teaching now for five years, Celia also performs with a jazz & R&B quartet and has released two Cd's of original songs to critical acclaim.
