FLO
n the early 80s’, the French West Indies Island of Guadeloupe a.k.a. Gwada, gave birth to FLO, who was to become the first local female MC to mix styles and languages and create a unique voice for Hip Hop music. FLO reminisces falling in love with the art form in the early 90s’, essentially thanks to her brother Enigma, who introduced her to artists and groups such as A Tribe Called Quest, Public Enemy, Mos Def and Talib Kweli’s Blackstar.
