      ANNOUNCING GEORGIA THEATRE COMPANY’S NINTH ANNUAL “FILM AND FOOD FOR A CAUSE” EVENT ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2012

      (Hinesville, GA)., September 14, 2012 -- Georgia Theatre Company announces the ninth annual “Film & Food for a Cause” event which will span twenty-one counties, all twenty-seven of their movie theatre locations in the state of Georgia, and at least 80 local restaurants with all proceeds from ticket and concession sales on the event date, Sunday, September 23, going directly to United Way of the Coastal Empire and The Southeast Georgia Chapter of the American Red Cross. The participating location in our area is The Liberty Stadium Cinemas located at 565 W. Oglethorpe Highway Hinesville, GA.

      Last year, over $113,800 was raised at the fifteen participating theatres (with an additional $45,000 spent by GTC to put on this great event for last year’s date alone). All proceeds went to the local United Way Agencies within the various local communities of the participating theatre locations. This year the funds will again go to local United Way groups and other local charities within those markets.

      Advance Tickets are available through Saturday 9/22/12. For a twelve dollar advance ticket donation (or six dollar advance ticket donation in select markets for Value Cinema locations), each customer receives admission to the film of their choice on the event date of Sunday 9/23/12, a special popcorn and soft-drink combo from the concession stand, and a packet of valuable coupons from participating restaurants. In addition, all regular ticket and concession purchases on event day go to the event total amount to be donated.

      To date this event has raised $470,500 on this unique one-day annual event and this year, with the expansion to include all Georgia locations, that amount is anticipated to increase significantly.

      Cost: Payment required - $12 charge that includes: admission to the film of their choice on the event date of Sunday 9/23/12, a special popcorn and soft-drink combo from the concession stand, and a packet of valuable coupons from participating restaurants
