Rutgers 10th Annual Jewish Film Festival

Hi everyone. Now that the High Holidays are over we can hopefully begin planning some new and fun activities. The Rutgers Jewish Film Festival runs from Nov 1-Nov. 10th at the Regal Cinema in North Brunswick. On Sunday November 8th, 2 interesting films will be screened which may be of interest to many of you. One is entitled "Waltz with Bashir" which is an animated documentary about an Israeli soldier who witnessed the war in Lebanon in 1982. Another film is "Refusenik" which is a documentary about Soviet Jewish Activitism during the Cold War. Both of these films sound great. "Waltz With Bashir" begins at 4 p.m. and is about 87 minutes long. "Refusenik" begins at 7 p.m. and is 116 minutes long. General Admission tickets are $10 for each film. Many films will be shown during the film festival period, so try and check them out. If you would like to purchase tickets, you can purchase them online at http://jewishstudies.rutgers.edu or contact the Jewish Studies department at Rutgers University at 732-932-2033. You can also buy tickets at the Regal Cinema. If you plan to attend one of the films or both, please let me know. I was thinking that perhaps we could get something to eat quickly between the showing of the two films, but we can discuss this in more detail when we meet. I recommend that you buy your tickets ahead of time since I do believe these two particular movie screenings may sell out. If you plan to be at the first movie screening we should meet 20 minutes prior to the screening at 3:40 p.m. in order to find seats together. Hope to see you on November 8th! -Carrie
