Trekking in the Himalayas, Nepal

This is a five week trip that you can join either for the entire trip or for one of its two parts. It's a bit early to buy tickets but the tentative departure date to Kathmandu is August 27, leaving back to the US on October 1. Expenses to prepare for are air fare, local transportation, lodging, food, and the services of a local guide and porters. In the files section of the Serious Adventurer, I posted a file with a very detailed tentative itinerary, gear and an estimate of costs. That should give you a good idea of whether this trip will be for you. A couple things to note: FITNESS LEVEL: You'll need to be emotionally and physically fit for trekking for several hours in high altitude and with significant elevation gain. We will not attempt to climb Everest, we will be trekking to Everest Base Camp only. However, altitude will be significant, reaching over 18,000ft. ATTITUDE: This is a long trek in which you will be part of a group and will be exposed to a very different environment/food/climate than you are used to. I expect maturity, initiative, collaboration and a positive attitude of all joining. DURATION: This trip has two parts. Part 1 - LOWER MUSTANG - is 13 days long and Part 2 - EVEREST BASE CAMP - is 18 days. You can do both parts or you can choose to join only one part of the trip.
