It's time to Feed the FISH! WHAT FISH ARE WE FEEDING?? Herndon-Reston FISH, Inc. (Friendly Instant Sympathetic Help) (ÂÂ"FISHÂÂ") has assisted Herndon-Reston residents with emergency and short-term needs since 1969. FISH responds to requests for rent, transportation and medical appointments, furniture, utilities, medical items (including prescriptions) and other short term emergency needs. FISHÂÂ's goal is to prevent an eviction, keep utilities from being turned off and help people pay for their prescriptions. In addition, volunteers provide residents transportation to medical appointments and staff an Answering and Referral Service, which provides callers with information and sources of long and short-term assistance available in Fairfax County through public and private agencies. FISH has been incorporated as an independent, non-profit, a 501(c)(3) organization since 1974. WHY ARE WE FEEDING THE FISH?? FISH relies on community support and donations to provide these necessary services to the residents of the Reston-Herndon area AND SURROUNDING COUNTY! SO WHAT IS FEED THE FISH?? WHEN: November 21, 2009 TIME: Starts at 1pm and ends around 11pm! WHERE: Reston Town Center FISHBOWL 1: AMERICAN TAP ROOM - 1-3pm FISHBOWL 2: IL FORNAIO - 3-5pm FISHBOWL 3: MCCORMICKS - 5-7pm FISHBOWL 4: PAOLO'S - 7-9pm DATE AUCTION STARTS AT 9PM AT PAOLO'S AND ENDS AT 11! WHAT: 1. The Fishbowls the above listed Reston Town Center Restaurants will be serving as "fishbowls" for all of us "little fishes". We will be at each location for the time stated above. During that time, at that fishbowl only, if you are properly registered - you will receive FABULOUS, drink and food specials! 2. The Raffle Throughout the ENTIRE day, we will be selling raffle tickets (each ticket not expensive and sold in the most fun way ever!) for fabulous prizes! The prizes will be raffled off randomly throughout the day!! (You don't necessarily have to be present to win!) (As we get donations for the raffle, we will list them at the end of this post!) You can also earn FREE Raffle tickets for different things (e.g. showing up and registering at a fishbowl on time, leaving a fishbowl on time, participating in certain activities and events at each fishbowl, answering FISH and SITS trivia questions correctly, etc.). ALL OF THE MONEY RAISED BY THE RAFFLE WILL BE PAID DIRECTLY TO FISH! The opportunity is there to raise THOUSANDS of dollars, just from this raffle! 3. The Fish Market Well, we are singles, and we do have some "catches" - so it's fitting that the evening will end at the last fishbowl with the FISH MARKET where we will auction off all of our "Catch of the Days!" That's right, ladies and gentlemen, some of our finest (our "catch of the days') have volunteered to participate in the DATE AUCTION (aka Fish Market)! It will definitely be fun, and to hear and see what the catch of the days will do on stage will definitely be worth it! But, more importantly, you could end up being the high bidder! Not only will you win a date (the date is provided by the form of a donation) - but ALL MONEY RAISED BY THE FISH MARKET WILL BE PAID DIRECTLY TO FISH! (SITS has done a date auction through the kickball team before and the date auction alone raised $2,000 for charity!) So, as you can see, this alone has the potential to raise a few THOUSAND DOLLARS for FISH! So, food/drink, raffles, activities, date auctions and more! Door prizes, gifts, raffles, dates, prizes, awards - more than you could ever think of! IF YOU ARE A REGISTERED MEMBER OF SITS (OR THE CHARITY FISH) - YOUR ADMISSION TO THIS EVENT IS FREE! IF YOU BRING FRIENDS, FAMILY, OR PICK PEOPLE UP OFF THE STREET WHO AREN'T REGISTERED AS A SITS MEMBER OR PART OF FISH, that's fine, the just need to pay $10 to receive the necessary "items" to show that they are able to participate in this event!(ALL MONEY FROM THIS REGISTRATION WILL...YOU GOT IT...BE PAID DIRECTLY TO FISH!) THIS IS GOING TO BE A HUGE EVENT!! IT'S DEFINITELY GOING TO BE ONE OF THE MOST FUN TIMES WE'VE EVER HAD! IT'S GOING TO TRULY FEED THE FISH!! COME OUT, BRING YOUR FRIENDS, FAMILY - IT'S ALL FOR A GOOD CAUSE! LET EVERYONE KNOW THAT THEY SHOULD COME AND FEED THE FISH!
