The Village’s Holiday Giving Tree Program Needs Your Support

Hartford, CT – November 16, 2009 – The Holiday Giving Tree is a gift-giving program that was established seven years ago. The program is designed to provide gifts to children involved in Village programs that otherwise would not receive holiday gifts. These children are the effects of extreme poverty and are Hartford’s most vulnerable children. All children should share the joy of the holiday season. The Village is committed to continue this program despite the economic downturn. The entire country is feeling the effects, especially the families we serve. This year, more than ever, the Village needs your assistance in order to fulfill the holiday wishes of Hartford’s most at-risk children.

The Village needs your help! There is a sense of urgency to our request since the holiday season is upon us. One gift for one child will bring joy and a renewed sense of belonging to the community they live in.

Here is how you can participate:
• Start up Holiday Giving Tree collection box at your workplace. The Village will coordinate the rest.
• Donate a gift or gift card valued at $25 or less for a child
