Description
This Dauphin County event is open from dawn to dusk. Rated 1+. The Lake and River Trail goes around Italian Lake, uses portions of the Capital Area Greenbelt, goes along the Susquehanna River, passes many outstanding architectural beauties, and the Governor's Mansion. It includes a Obelisk dedicated to the Civil War soldiers. Camp Curtain was in this area and was one of the largest mustering-in sites of the Civil War. The trail starts about 2 miles from the registration point. Driving directions to the start of the trail are included on the trail instructions. This trail can be added to the Historic Trail at the Governor's Mansion for a total of 22K with two event credits.
