Description
Available from dawn to dusk. The Dauphin County Historic Trail follows a portion of the Capital Area Greenbelt, going by the Railroad Station, thru the State Capitol Complex, and crossing the Susquehanna River to City Island. A large Civil War painting is located in the State Museum which is on the trail. The 12K trail also includes the Governor's Mansion. The 12K trail can be extended into a 22K trail with 2 event stamps with the addition of the Lake and River Trail. President Theodore Roosevelt dedicated the capitol building in 1906. He called it the handsomest bulidng he ever saw.
