Tying classes at the White River Fly Shop

Tying season is here and once again the White River Fly Shop will be offering free fly tying classes starting in January. Mike McConnell will be conducting the Freshwater Tying Class and Walt Sheppard will teach the Saltwater Class.

Mike and Walt are local experts with exceptional experiences and talents in the fly tying and fly fishing arena. Mike was instrumental in implementing the Boy Scouts of America Fly Tying Merit Badge and Walt if he’s not here at the fly shop is either sitting at his fly tying bench or booking his next fly fishing trip to some exotic destination.

Classes will run for 4-weeks allowing the tier to pick up all necessary skills to become a proficient fly tier. If you have been thinking of taking up the fly tying hobby or want to brush up on your skills, then call or come in and pre-register. Dates for January classes are: Saltwater Fly Tying Classes January 6, 13th, 20th and 27th and Freshwater Fly Tying Classes January 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th. Students will need to provide their own tools and supplies for the class.
