Cocktails, dinner and keynote speaker: Dr. Daniel Pierce, History Chair, University of North Carolina-Asheville, on A Fairy Dream on a Goat Hill: One Historians Journey into the History of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Part of park is land aquired from Hamilton-based Champion Paper & Fibre Company. Special guest Alexander Sandy Thomson III, great-grandson of Champion founder Peter G. Thomson. Also, 75th anniversary of Great Smokey Mountains National Park.
Presented by Butler County Historical Society and Museum Gallery hours: 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m.-noon Saturday.
