Our merry little group was originally founded in 2004 by Brad Fohr, who offered information on Zen meditation techniques. We have kept some of the Zen meditation traditions in our sessions but members are welcome to meditate in any style they wish as long as it is silent. For more information there are weblinks on the left side of the home page under "Messages" to websites that might be of interest. There is also an excellent article under "Files" entitled Mindfulness in Plain English. Jim and Malcolm are leading the sessions. If you would like to lead a session, please let us know. It's easy and fun! If you would like an orientation in meditation techniques, let us know by e-mail or after one of the sessions and we will arrange to meet you about 15 minutes before the next session begins. We start with a 20 minute sitting meditation, then do a 5 minute walking meditation and end with another 20 minute sitting meditation. We're meeting in the Overflow Room A. That's in the building that is up the stairs (or ramp) if you are coming from the front parking lot on State Park road. Most members prefer to park in the back and avoid the stairs. Go through the glass doors. The Overflow Room is on the right if your are coming from the front parking lot. From the left if coming from the back lot. There is no need to RSVP but doing so may encourage more to join us. We typically have anywhere from 5-17 members show up. Please contact us if you would like more information. If you arrive after we have already started, you'll know by the silence, just come in as quietly as you can and sit down. If you are unsure of what to do, just do what everyone around you seems to be doing. As a meditator, the less you are doing, the better you are doing! All are welcome. Please join us!
