      America's Race to Space - Where DID it take us? | Chautauqua History Alive adventure | FREE

      Join an audience that loves to talk back to history. We overview the Great Space Race of the Cold War, it's highlights, it's controversies, and just what rewards the Space Race yielded humanity in the years that followed.

      Led by Larry Bounds, assistant Artistic Director of Chautauqua, who will also present "Let's Go to Outer Space!" at the Hughes Main Library Saturday May 7 at 2pm. And perform as Werhner von Braun, Father of Rocket Science – the man who took America to the moon – in the June Chautauqua History Alive Festival. This event is NOT a costumed performance.

      Introduction for Chautauqua History Alive Festival | American Adventures with Mark Twain, Amelia Earhart, Matthew Henson and Wernher von Braun performed by nationally acclaimed historical interpreters, June 17 – 26 – all FREE.
